Shop Safely At The Ink and Toner Shop

Buying online at The Ink and Toner Shop is 100% safe as well as being easy. All transaction information passed between our site and Sage Pay’s systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificate. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to us from Sage Pay are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely assured that nothing passed to Sage Pay’s servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

Once on Sage Pay's systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data SagePay hold is extremely secure and SagePay are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.

Sage Pay has multiple private links into the banking network that are completely separate from the Internet and which do not cross any publicly accessible networks. Any cardholder information sent to the banks and any authorisation message coming back are secure and cannot be tampered with.

How can I tell if a web page is secure?

There are two general indications of a secure web page:

1) Check the URL in the address bar of the web page

Normally, when browsing the web, the URL (web page address) begins with the letters "http://".  If you look at the web address bar, at the top of this page, you will notice the URL begins with "http" which tells you this page is not secure. This page does not need to be secure as none of your personal details will be entered here.

Now see a secure page for yourself on our website

When you've finished shopping and are ready to make a purchase, press the checkout button. You will be taken to our secure checkout page to add your billing details. At this point, you will notice the change in the URL. It will now begin with "https", (note the "s") meaning that your details will be encrypted before being sent to the server. This is now a secure page.

Over a secure connection the address displayed should begin with "https://" - note the "s" at the end.

2) Look for the Padlock

A padlock will be displayed simultaneously with the https:// at the top of the secure page, in the browser bar, giving added reassurance that you are making a safe transaction.

Over a secure connection the Padlock will be displayed.
