HP Imaging Drum Kits, Fuser Kits, Image Transfer Kits etc.

From time to time your HP printers will advise you that you need to replace the imaging drum, fuser unit, image transfer kit or image cleaning kit. Replacing the part when required will keep your HP printer in its optimum condition. This will ensure top-quality, reliable printing, which means less down time.

If you do not see the part you require on the website please call 01234 713137 or email sales@theinkandtonershop.co.uk for help.

Why will I need to replace the imaging drum?

The imaging drum is electrically charged to pick up toner around the image. It then deposits it on the paper, ready to print. As the drum unit is used it gradually loses the charge and is no longer able to pick up the toner. Sometimes, when the charge is weak, the toner is even deposited into the printer on an attempt to pick it up. The printer will notify you with a message when a replacement is necessary*.

What is an image transfer kit and why do I need to replace it?

An image transfer kit is part of your printer hardware. It is called a transfer kit because the toner image is transferred to this electrostatic kit, where it is placed and alligned and then transferred to the paper. The image is the fused on permanently. The unit lasts for hundreds of thousands of prints*.

What is a fuser unit and when will it need to be replaced?

The fuser is made up of a pair of heated rollers. As the paper passes through these rollers the loose toner melts and fuses to the paper. The fuser ensures smudge-free printing and will need to be changed periodically. The printer will flash up a message when this is necessary*.

*The duty cycles/ page life of the all the units are hundreds of thousands of pages. The exact figures are shown on the product description of the individual items on the website.
