Bring Colour To Your Life With Genuine Epson Ink Cartridges
Epson colour cartridges come in two different types:
Epson Tri-colour & Epson 5-Colour Cartridges
Both Tri-colour and 5-Colour are single cartridges containing either three or five colour inks. The tri-colour ink cartridge contains cyan, magenta and yellow ink and the 5-colour contains cyan, magenta, yellow light cyan and light magenta. Cyan, magenta & yellow are the three basic colours used in printing and colour photos. The colours can be mixed to produce other colours and hues. This is known as "subtractive" colour mixing because when all three colours are mixed, in equal parts, black is produced. However to save money and to produce a deeper black a black cartridge is still required.
The good points of the tri-colour/ 5-colour cartridge are:
- Only one ink cartridge is required.
- The cartridge goes on printing when one colour runs out; albeit not in the true colour you may require.
The down side of this type of cartridge is:
- The colours will become less true as the cartridge is used up.
Single colour cartridges
These are single cartridges that contain either cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan or light magenta ink. The majority of Epson inkjet cartridges are this type.
The advantage of this system is:
- You get true colours everytime you print.
- Professional photographic results can be obtained.
The disadvantages are:
- The printer software will often stop the printer from working when any cartridge needs renewing.
- You will probably need to keep some spare cartridges at hand - multipacks are worth looking at.
If you already own an Epson printer you will have to use the type of cartridge required by that particular printer.
If you need help to find the correct cartridge for your printer either have the printer model ready or the number on the cartridge pack and call 01234 713137 or email sales@theinkandtonershop.co.uk for help.
