Canon Drum Units

How Does A Canon Drum Unit Work?

  1. The Canon drum unit rotates and it is positively charged.
  2. An electrostatic image is formed when a laser beam emits light onto the surface of the Canon drum surface.
  3. Particles of charged toner are drawn to the image.
  4. The paper passes the drum unit where a negative charge is applied. The negative charge draws the toner away from the drum surface and deposits it on the paper.
  5. The image is fixed by heat and pressure rollers.
  6. The finished document is finally printed.

When should I replace my Canon drum unit?

A genuine Canon drum unit, like all other imaging drum units, have an expected page life - usually around 20,000 pages for mono printing and 5,000 colour. When this is exceeded the drum will gradually lose its ability to retain as much positive charge as when it was new. The drum will no longer pick up as much toner and will even drop particles into the printer.

The Ink And Toner Shop supply drum units for Canon printers at low prices with free delivery.
