Brother Drum Units
To the best of our knowledge the printer compatibility is correct but if you are unsure please refer to the manufacturer's recommendations before ordering.
The Brother Toner and Drum System - How it works
- Whilst the Brother drum unit rotates it is positively charged.
- When a laser beam emits light onto the Brother drum surface an electrostatic image is formed.
- Particles of charged toner are drawn to the image.
- The paper passes the drum where a negative charge is applied. This draws the toner away from the drum surface and deposits it on the paper.
- The image is fixed by the heat and pressure rollers.
- The finished document is printed.
When should I replace my Brother drum unit?
Drum units have an expected page life - 20,000 pages is not unusual. When this has passed the drum will gradually lose its ability to retain as much positive charge as when it was new. This means the drum will not pick up as much toner and will even drop particles into the printer.
The Ink And Toner Shop supply drum units for all Brother printers at low prices and with free delivery. « Back
